What is Animal Chiropractic?
Animal Chiropractic is the performance of chiropractic on non-human patients. An animal chiropractor searches for misaligned joints, inflamed tissues, decreased range of motion, and other health issues on non-human patients and corrects them with a specific adjustment with their hands or an adjusting tool.
Chiropractic care does not replace traditional veterinary medicine. Prior to chiropractic care your pet should receive a thorough veterinary evaluation and any appropriate imaging should be performed. For your pet to be seen in our office for chiropractic care, your veterinarian will need to provide a yearly chiropractic referral. Our goal is to have a symbiotic relationship with your veterinarian to provide thorough and transparent care for your pet.
Some goals of chiropractic care may include but are not limited to the following:
- Identifying misalignments
- Identify neurological imbalances
- Restore spinal biomechanics
- Reduce patient pain or discomfort
- Reduce inflammation
- Improved range of motion
